In today's society, being "green" is becoming very popular and I have to say, I am very excited but it is still our responsibility to be smart consumers. Marketing experts know how to subtly attract consumers so we need to dig a little deeper and find out who is the real deal and who is just greenwashing.

I found this directory of eco-friendly businesses that has been providing resources to eco-friendly consumers for 10 years! These still need to be checked out but it is a great comprehensive way to quickly find what you need in just about every imaginable product or good.

Jamie and Jim

Unfortunately I don't get to shoot Jamie and Jim's wedding because they decided to head to the Virgin Islands and I am so sad. We had so much fun hanging around downtown Wheaton. Have so much fun at your wedding and congratulations!!

This weekend was Jill and Kevin's wedding and despite a little rain, it was a beautiful day! The reception was at the Marriott in Burr Ridge.

Impact Tip - Eggs, eggs and more eggs

While staying with my friend Lauren, I learned about a new way to get the freshest eggs possible...raise the chickens at your home and get all the free eggs you can handle. They got their chickens about a month ago and they will be ready to produce eggs at 20 weeks old. They are quiet and adorable and fun for the kids.

Some of the benefits of having your own chickens are:

1. Low maintenance and cheap pets
2. Great tasting, and good for you eggs
3. Organic, chemical free pest control: they love to eat the insects we don't love so much :)
4. Free fertilizer
5. Give a hen a better life, free from the cages

While I was in Portland, I had the pleasure of shooting my best friend with her son as she is expecting a new baby girl. Oliver is 4 now and it has been such a joy to watch him grow.

Back from OR and WA and home for good...

Well wedding season is here and now I will be staying put in Chicago for awhile. Thank you to everyone for your patience in anything you needed. I had a great time visiting friends and taking pictures. Today its climbing, tomorrow I will post some pictures of Oliver and his mom :)

I just loved Bonnie's socks! Typically we don't climb in socks but we were pretty cold!
I have never climbed on granite before, it was very different but I LOVE it...can't wait for more! This crag was interesting, right off a bike path so bikers would ride by while we climbed and if you turned around, you were looking right at the mountains! Bonnie making the clip, the original +1
